About Me

Biography

Varsha Iyer is a sophomore from Germantown, Maryland studying at the University of Maryland. Her interests include various forms of dance, illustration, and creative writing. Her prospective research aims to examine how these art forms can be used as a form of empathy between individuals and foster a sense of community. After graduating, she plans to work a company invested in using the arts to communicate and bring people together.

As a College Park Arts Scholar, Varsha intends to explore her research interests through her culminating Capstone project to be completed this year. She is excited to take full advantage of the opportunity to learn about the many applications and combinations of varying art forms from guest artists. As part of her university experience, she plans to become involved with her Arts Scholars peers, where she hopes to engage in thought-provoking discussion even despite the distance enforced by the current pandemic. Her academic goals include developing a senior thesis that demonstrates mastery in both the arts and her intended major, as well as graduating ready to enter the workforce.
